Rescued – A Happy Tail

Rescue Dogs Rescue Soldiers team member Isaiah Bowen and Kaiser

In late May, 118 dogs were discovered in deplorable conditions in a warehouse in Utica.

By June 24, all but the most difficult to place dogs (11) had been adopted, fostered, returned to their original shelters & rescue organizations or transferred to other animal care facilities.

A $14,200 Staffworks Fund grant to Rescue Dogs Rescue Soldiers in Cherry Valley provided permanent homes for the 11 remaining dogs.

In addition, $1,800 will be provided for immediate medical needs.

The mission of Rescue Dogs Rescue Soldiers is to train dogs as service dogs for soldiers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. They also provide permanent sanctuary for dogs and other animals.
