On October 2 & 3, the Staffworks Fund sponsored the Herkimer Community Cat Project Spay/Neuter/Vaccination clinic for feral cats at the Herkimer VFW.
FARVets, an organization dedicated to promoting animal welfare domestically and abroad through sterilization, wellness, and education, came in to perform the surgeries on the 40 cats.
These clinics have been shown to be the least costly and the most humane, efficient way of stabilizing feral cat populations.
Staffworks Inc profits support The Staffworks Fund established in 2005 at The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties. The primary mission of the Staffworks Fund is to support nonprofit organizations that care for at-risk animals in Central NY. Staffworks assets at The Community Foundation have grown to $13 million.
As of October 2020, $2.1 million has been donated to organizations that save animal lives.
